Job Description

The Financial Controller position is an essential role within a not-for-profit organisation.Client DetailsThe employer is a large not-for-profit organisation with a widespread reach. With a team of dedicated professionals, they work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most, offering support and services across Stockport.DescriptionThe key responsibilities of a Financial Controllerwill include, but may not be limited to;

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, report variances.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Post and organise supplier invoices.
  • Reconcile all payments and monitor aged payables, allocate credits as necessary.
  • Close monthly accounts and prepare Accruals and Prepayments.
  • Monitor bank account balances to ensure sufficient funds available for outgoings ie payroll, supplier payments
ProfileA successful Financial Controller should have:
  • Not for Profit and Charities background.
  • A degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Part qualified essential.
  • Proven working experience in accounting.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
  • Ability to commute to Stockport.
