Working on product and project driven change across a number of technologies, you will be responsible for creating test frameworks and automated tests to ensure all features and functions undergo rigorous testingand are fit for purpose and meet acceptance criteria. The role holder will have great test automation skills and will work under the guidance and support of the Senior and Principal Test Engineers.Your responsibilities as our Automation Test Engineer will include:

  • Writing high-quality feature files using BDD syntax at a story or feature level
  • Creatingand maintaining reusable automation test frameworks and building of automated test artifacts
  • EnsuringVitalitys testing standards are followed,andthat test automation and regression packs are maintained
  • Ensuring all features and functions undergo system and system integration testing prior to release
  • Actively removingblockers for test execution and escalates where needed
  • Contributing to test plans, progress reports and end of stage reports as required
  • Attendingall Scrum Ceremonies required to actively contribute to the sprint cycle
  • Participatingin the Test Automation Community of Practice and contribute to best practice documentation
  • Collaborating with others with a "can do" attitude to review specifications and using these agreed specifications to test effectively and efficientlyusing the right standards and tools
What were looking for in ourAutomation Test Engineer:Essential
  • Excellent skills in test automation, including creating and maintaining test frameworks and building automated tests
  • Excellence in test analysis, preparation, and execution throughout the test cycle (manual and automated testing)
  • Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience of testing windows and web-based applications
  • Experienced in writing automated API tests
  • ISEB / ISTQB Foundation certificate or above, in Software Testing
  • Tools: qTest, SQL Developer, Postman, Jenkins, BrowserStack, Visual Studio, Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Automation package: SpecFlow, C#, Selenium, Nunit
  • Programming practices: Gherkin, SOLID, Page object models, BDD, TDD, GIT Flow
  • Must have a passion for achieving excellence in product quality and reliability
  • An analytical mind and a good problem-solving attitude
  • Experience of software development lifecycles and testing in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Experience of working within a development team and the wider business
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of testing Micro Services
  • Experience of working within the Health Insurance sector
  • A degree in a relevant computing subject
