Job Description

Waste Assessor- Waste Management£28,000 per annumFull Time Permanent positionWe are looking for a Waste Assessor to support a growing Waste management operation in Stafford. This is an exciting opportunity to be based at a large Landfill Site in Stafford, overseeing Waste Acceptance Procedures across all sites and liaising with customers.Day to Day

  • Developing successful relationships with external customers and assisting with assessment queries.
  • Assessing suitable waste management options for customer enquiries
  • Undertaking waste assessment in accordance with technical guidance
  • Preparing waste disposal quotations
  • Preparing Waste Sampling Plans in accordance with the sampling regime.
  • Monitoring and ensuring that all non-compliant material is reported to the Waste Acceptance Manager.
  • Reviewing sampling results and updating records.
  • Ensuring that waste acceptance is in accordance with the waste management licences/permits for each site.
  • Identifying the waste types and understanding what is deemed acceptable to all sites when considering legislation and the environmental permit.
  • Assisting the Waste Acceptance Manager in the submission of reports and information for use internally and by the Regulator.
  • Support the Senior Sales Manager to ensure that all customer enquiries are dealt with.
  • Confidently liaise with sites and laboratories to facilitate compliance samples.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • 3 years experience of working in a Waste Assessment role.
  • Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of waste legislation and waste acceptance procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills
  • Understand Environmental Permits and Waster Acceptance Procedures.
  • Ability to identify waste types and be able to apply this knowledge practically.
  • Knowledge to assist the development of Waste Sampling Plans for incoming waste.
  • Excellent administration and IT skills
