Building Physicist/Energy Modeller Ref: EMBHome based and then travel 1 to 2 days per week covering the UK, Wales and sometimes Ireland - all expenses paid Monday to Friday - full time roleJOB DUTIES:-This is a new position, due to expansionWe are seeking an experienced Building Physicist/Energy Modeller who will be part of the Net Zero Decarbonisation UnitWe require someone that can look at a property and be able to look at the energy performance and how they would improve it and suggestions on what to doLooking at issues around damp, mould, air change over rates, Co2 levelsThe work is for housing, schools, and hospitals.Able to provide case studies on previous projects to illustrate experience and knowledgeAdvising on the energy methodology to be used both for different building types and for analysing energy use across an estate made up of different building typesOverseeing Energy modelling and building simulation, such as IES and Passivhaus PHPP modelOverseeing the statutory and building regulations aspects of the fabric and plant for the business case inputsAdvising on monitoring and certificationREQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:- Must be familiar with the various energy simulation tolls and standards related to buildings that are current and those that will shortly be introducedIdeally a practitioner in at least one form of the energy modelling, such as IESIdeally experienced building physicist or design mechanical engineer with experience in the private sector and developing zero carbon solutionsBENEFITS:-Salary £50,000 to £70,000 per annumMileage paid and travel expenses paid23 Days Holidays + Stats, rising to 27 with serviceFree Gym membershipFully paid volunteer daysLife insuranceCycle to work schemeRetail, socialising, travel discountsPromotional prospects
