Job Description

Our client has secured funding from the National Lottery for an exciting new project starting later this month.Title: Support & Peer Volunteer Facilitator Responsible to: Connect 4 Co-ordinator Salary: £22,000 (pro rata)Hours: 37.5 hours per weekBased: in the Stafford area, travel required, car user preferred.About the projectCONNECT FOUR is an exciting new digital project uniting Wolverhampton, Stafford, Cannock and Stoke all about Mental Health & Wellbeing.Building on existing support and assistance, our client will be creating an open and inclusive space to share ideas, learning and experience, build peer to peer support and develop self-supporting groups as well as sharing important resources and information.The project will:

  • Boost and enrich their current digital offer, increasing and extending opportunities and enabling individuals from across the midlands to access a range of interesting and exciting digital spaces to support and improve mental health.
  • Offer direct Mental Health & Wellbeing support to those experiencing difficulty as a result of the current COVID-19 situation (directly or indirectly), working in partnership with others to ensure joined up support and opportunities.
  • Work to address the challenges of digital inclusion via the triangulate issues of equipment, data, and ability.
  • Promote and nurture Peer Support work and the development of Mutual Aid groups as an asset based and grass roots solution to many of the problems we are experiencing.
  • Support other organisations in dealing with the many demands on their teams.
  • About the roleThis team member will work within the Connect 4 Team - helping to grow a skilled, active and energised group of peer volunteers.Responsibilities will include:
  • Promoting, recruiting and supporting individuals to find support through Connect 4 before extending that support to others, working to create a vibrant and engaged group of Peers active across the digital space, accessing existing opportunities and developing new ones.
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure inclusion, build mutual aid and connect to external organisations to ensure continuity and effectively shared resources.
  • Reviewing the current peer volunteer groupings and establishing a detailed pool of individuals and their interests and availability, working with them to deploy according to project flow. Co-designing and co-delivering an inclusive digital recruitment, training and induction process to integrate and grow the peer volunteer base and build local capacity.
  • This person will also provide appropriate follow up support and offer assistance to other team members and peer/volunteers over the term of the project, and will work with other partners and community groups to build awareness and referral pathways.The closing date for applications is 5th October, with interviews taking place between 6th-8th October.TO APPLY AND FOR MORE INFORMATIONPlease click Apply - you will receive an email from CHM Recruit with further instructions on how to apply.
