Job Description

Reed Education are working in partnership a number of specialist schools in the Stoke-on-Trent area and we have vacancies for Mid-day Assistants on a temporary basis. Each school specialises in a particular type of SEND, so you may be working with students with a variety of needs from physical, mental, social or behavioural.You will be responsible for working with pupils during their lunch break, providing 1:1 and small group support to students whilst they eat their lunches and partake in activities.We find that people who are warm, welcoming, and good natured will naturally fit into this position. These roles are well suited to those seeking part-time hours during the day (11:30 – 13:30) Monday to Friday.Duties for this role will include:-

  • Supervising mealtimes across the school, ensuring lunchtimes remain a safe and positive experience for pupils.
  • Supervising and assisting younger children when necessary, during lunch.
  • Assist with the development of pupils healthy eating choices and good table manners.
  • Cleaning of any spillages.
  • Cleaning and putting away tables.
  • Brushing and mopping floors.
