Job Description

SEN Key WorkerStaffordImmediate start£55 -£65 a dayThe Supply Register are Recruiting!Are you looking for your next role where you make a difference in inspiring the next generation Are you a qualified in SENTA looking for a new challenge Our client is seeking a motivated, creative EYFS teaching assistant to join their friendly and inclusive school.The Supply Register are currently working with a primary school in the Stafford who are seeking to appoint a SENTA to work on a 1:1 basis with a EYFS pupil to develop and support effective practice particular learning needs.This is an exciting opportunity to join the school at a new stage in its development and be part of our journey as we strive for continued improvement, transforming the life chances of the young people in our care. If you care about the success of your students and have the energy to make that success a reality.The position is set to commence as soon as possible. The 1:1 Key Worker is required to support a child in Year 1 who will be accessing our Early Years setting. The needs of this child are outlined in their EHCP.The Key Worker will need to have the skills and abilities to:

  • Use non-verbal communication methods including Makaton, visual prompts and objects of reference
  • Recognise the childs non-verbal communication of their needs (pointing, crying, behaviours)
  • Model how to follow school routines and staff instructions, in order to keep the child safe
  • Engage the child in social interaction with their peers, initially using their own interests. Support with turn-taking and sharing with peers.
  • Deliver a Speech and Language programme, focusing on matching and sorting visual items
  • Engage the child, who is hyperactive, in adult-led activities for 5 minutes initially, increasing this over time
  • Engage the child in learning activities by differentiating these to match the childs current level of working at 16-26 months
  • Deliver toilet training and changing
  • Support the child with feeding
