JOB AD:[CONTRACT] Mechanical designerDuration: 6 MonthsLocation: StaffordStart Date: ASAPA client based in Stafford is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with Power Experience. This is for an initial 6-month contractResponsible for providing mechanical design support for modality components and subsystems.Leads design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and essential component and assembly details.Deliver designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability.Deliver designs for components and electromechanical assemblies for size, precision, reliability, and cost.Develops and maintains mechanical subsystem quality and engineering project funnel.Validates product sub-system reliability performance.Conducts analysis of installed base and new product reliability.May lead quality engineering projects that provide imaginative solutions to engineering and customer issues.Mechanical design of Power electronic converter modules for HVDCMechanical design of support structures, Working with suppliersIssue detailed design drawings.Integration with other engineering departmentsReviewing mechanical designsWrite technical specifications and other documents for proving the relevant designSkills:Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 10 years of experience or a masters degree with 1 to 5 years of experience, proven experience of the industrial product mechanical design3D-CAD tools (Pro-Engineer, Creo 7 or over, and Windchill PDMlink 4 or over)Proven product mechanical design,Sound understanding of material properties, including composites,Mechanical design of high-voltage electrical equipment such as transformers, generators, or switchgear.Mechanical design of power electronic converters such as motor drives
