Job Description

Gas Engineer- Landfillc£32,000 per annum Full Time Permanent position- Field Based role to cover multiple sitesWe are looking for a Landfill Gas Engineer to support a growing Waste management operation to cover the Bristol/Swansea area. Day to Day

  • Executing all generator and gasfield maintenance
  • Maintaining and repairing all mechanical and electrical plant, including pumps and motors at all facilities.
  • Maintaining and inspecting LV electrical equipment
  • Commissioning/Exchanging Generators and all associated equipment (ranging from the generator to the telephone line.)
  • Monitoring the gasfield to maintain gas control and sustainable fuel sources for the Generators.
  • Completing air emissions monitoring and environmental spill control using spill control equipment.
  • Providing 24-hour emergency call out cover to respond to generator set failures when necessary.
  • Ensuring that all sites are compliant with current legislation and Health and Safety/environmental requirements.
  • Day-to-day operations and maintenance, including but not limited to, fault diagnosis, location, and rectification.
  • Completing planned maintenance and breakdown response on the gensets/gas plant
  • Resolving technical issues and concerns.
  • Filing reports, monitoring and auditing
  • Demonstrating good knowledge of Maintenance, procedures, manuals, and stock systems.
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Must have at least 2 years experience of engine or gasfield maintenance
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel as needed to support a number of landfill gas sites
  • Understand current health and safety laws/legislation
I.T. literate
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external specialists
