Job Description

Fire Specialist, Stafford, £40,000 - £55,000, Hybrid (MondayFriday)Client:Castlefield Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Fire Specialistto join a large Public Sector organisation in Stafford. The role requires the specialist to be on site 1-2 days per week.This assignment can start immediately.Role:

  • Provide advice on all statutory duties / obligations and requirements
  • Provide assessments of existing buildings for resilience to fire and proposals for improvement if applicable
  • Undertaking the load calculations and the fire rating assessments for the new building or existing if refurbishment
  • Produce a Fire Strategy Report identifying key fire risks and safety measures, evacuation modelling (if applicable to the scheme), compartmentations and means of escape, structural fire integrity, internal and external fire spread in accordance with helatest HTM 05 series of documents and Approved Document B
  • Provide advice on active and passive fire protection systems
  • Passive fire protection systems i.e. masonry units, dry lining boards, intumescent paints and vermiculite sprays
  • Active fire protection systems i.e. Firefighting access, fire hydrants, dry/wet riser systems, sprinkler systems, heat and smoke detectors, fire alarms, smoke ventilation, hose reels and fire extinguishers
  • External access to the building and hydrant locations for the Fire and Rescue Service
  • Provide advice in internal finishes
  • Compilation of performance, specification, and the recommendation of robust details for fire barriers and smoke curtains in ceilings, floors, walls and roofs. Fire stopping at walls, ducts and cables etc. to ensure compliance with planning requirements,Building Control and or Employer Specifications
  • Commissioning and witnessing special tests
  • Undertaking statutory inspections including Fire Audits if applicable
  • Producing statutory or employer specified reports including Fire Safety Management Plans
