Job Description

Facilities EngineerUp to £32/hr - Inside IR35Stafford12 month initial contractDiesel EnginesA Facilities Engineeropportunity has become available for one of the worlds leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines.

  • Accountable for delivery of pre-planned and reactive calibration and maintenance tasks, while adhering to safety standards and best working practices
  • Support and lead project management activities, purchasing, installation and commissioning of test cell equipment
  • Utilise initiative and planning tools to deliver efficiencies with a customer focus, ensuring effective communication with the GED team on tasks being undertaken
  • Compliance with EHS tasks, ensuring adherence with health, safety & environmental standards across site
To apply for this position you should have some of the following:
  • Degree in automotive, electrical or mechanical engineering or relevant experience
  • Instrumentation/calibration experience including thermocouples, pressure transducers, flowmeters, emissions analysers, etc
  • Good understanding of the electrical and mechanical requirements of an engine test facility
  • Working knowledge of engine data acquisition systems (DSG, Cadet, PUMA, STARS)
  • Modification of engine electrical harnesses for a test cell environment
  • Mechanical/electrical experience on diesel engines, stripping & rebuilding engines, along with a good automotive or off-highway mechanical background
  • A good knowledge of 18th Edition Electrical Safety and Competence desirable but not essential
