Engine Test Technician - Contract - Automotive & Off-HighwayBeing a successful highly-skilled Technician, its likely that you know engines inside out and could work with your eyes closed. But is now the time to see what else is out there for you and make that move to become a highly regarded Test Technician and truly make a difference in the engine development world...Whats on offer:Those days of working in a dark and dirty workshop are over! You will be working in a top-notch facility and be surrounded by a large team. Tired of working every weekend and not getting to see your family and friends…well youll be pleased to know youd only be working Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm and Friday you get to start your weekend at 12pm! Whats required:The Engineering Team covers build, instrumentation, testing and assessment of large diesel and gas fuelled engines, and you would be carrying out R&D work on a variety of engines both new and old. Every day is different here - from pre-rigging engines, preparing for tests, instrumentation, fabrication work, analysing data and test results. Required skills:- City Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in an automotive mechanical subject or equivalent qualification- Mechanical / Electrical experience on diesel engines, stripping & rebuilding engines- Good automotive / locomotive / off-highway background- Capable of problem solving, fault finding and good attention to detail- Instrumentation experience including; thermocouples, pressure transducers, flowmeters, emissions analysers- Good IT skills; Word, Excel and PowerPointSo, if youre a highly-skilled Technician with a keen interest to develop your career that next step further, this could be a great opportunity for you!
