Job Description

Embedded Software Developer Permanent Location - Stafford (Hybrid) Salary - £55,000 Are you an Embedded Software Developer looking for a new opportunity If you care about making a positive impact on the planet through contributing your experience and knowledge, click apply today.Out client is a world leading renewable energy organisation going from strength to strength, with big plans for the foreseeable future. Do you want to be a part of the inevitable rise of renewable energiesAs an Embedded Software Developer, you will be working to enhance features for an IEC 61850 compliant Control System. You will have a direct impact on business-critical software to meet product requirements for future HVDC projects. Does thissound like youRole Responsibilities:

  • Board Bring-up involving the SBC processors cards
  • Creating PC applications for use by production and service teams
  • Prepare unit test and regression test specification, release packages and templates
  • Prepare formal and informal engineering documentation
  • Implement software QA activities, incl. Code, Milestone and Release reviews
Your experience:
  • Experience of testing and debugging software
  • Clear understanding of sockets and network programming
  • Experience of writing PC applications (C++, C# etc.)
  • Software design and integration experience specific for control systems development
  • Proficient in Debugging the low-level source code/ assembly code on the Microprocessors/ DSP/ Microcontrollers using In Circuit Emulators (ICE) and other suitable methods
Your qualifications:
  • Degree in software engineering or relevant qualification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of real-time embedded software designs
  • Minimum 2 years experience
