Job Description

My client in Stafford is looking for an experienced Band 5 Haematology Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract.Job Role:

  • Monday- Friday
  • 37.5 h/week
  • To report any witnessed deficiencies in health and safety and quality systems, documentation or individual behaviour to own line manager or the manager for the area concerned.
  • Maintains clinical records in relation to work carried out.
  • Supervises and trains less experienced staff in own area of work
  • The successful candidate will be expected to rotate through all sections of the laboratory performing a wide range of duties and providing support to the Senior Biomedical Scientist team.
Qualifications and Experience required:
  • HCPC registered as a BMS
  • Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) Registration Portfolio
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Knowledge of relevant laboratory data management systems
  • Knowledge of relevant quality procedures
  • Health and safety knowledge
  • Working in a laboratory environment
  • Using Pathology IT systems
  • Working in a team and alone
  • Training, inducting and supporting junior staff
  • Understanding of data protection and data quality
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge and application of quality systems with particular reference to CPA/UKAS
