Job Description

Homebased, BristolTribal’s vision is to empower the world of education and we make it our mission to provide the software and services which empower education institutions across the globe.We have an opportunity to join our global payroll team on a fixed term c12 month contract in a varied, challenging and engaging role.The RoleAs a Payroll Assistant you will support the processing of the payroll and benefits service for Tribal and its UK and overseas employees, ensuring that all payrolls and associated procedures are delivered effectively, on time and to a high standard.Whilst our monthly payroll responsibilities are primarily for UK based employees, we also support several Tribal operations globally, providing a great opportunity to expand your expertise.As a Payroll Assistant working within a small team you will work to fixed deadlines and to a consistently high standard of quality and accuracy across a range of core Payroll activities from monthly processing, to reporting and providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.To give an indication, some of the key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Collating and inputting all relevant information to process the monthly company Payrolls
  • Working closely with our HR Support Team to ensure effective team operations
  • Assisting with the month end payroll output reconciliation, financial reporting, benefit administration
  • Assisting with the processing of the company pension scheme to include auto enrolment
  • Assisting and understanding the End of Year process to include RTI declaration, P60, and P11d production.
  • Assisting with the processing of international payrolls and the review of output from bureaus and other external providers.
  • The TeamOur payroll team has a fantastic reputation within the organisation built upon a history providing a fantastic reliable service the colleagues.As a relatively small team each member has a crucial contribution to play, and therefore whilst there is lots of room to learn, grow and have exposure to new areas of payroll and benefits it will be important that the post holder has a really sound proven and practical understanding of delivering a payroll and the confidence to take ownership of activities.Our Payroll team is based in central Bristol, and whilst this role is currently homebased (due to Covid restrictions) we hope that the payroll team would be able to return to our Bristol office during the term of this position. This role could remain homebased, but there will be the the expectation to attend the Bristol office and meet with the team on a semi regular basis.The PersonThis role will include a great deal of variety and will be well suited to a payroll professional with a sound understanding of key aspects of UK payroll practice and payroll legislation. It essential that candidates have substantial experience delivering payroll in a fast-paced environment, and the confidence to deliver independently.We primarily use iTrent as our Payroll system and whilst experience of this specific tool isn’t essential, transferrable experience and understanding of similar enterprise scale solutions (Sage for example) is essential for this role.Experience of Pension and Benefit schemes and administration would be beneficial.Customer service is also an important aspect of this role. You will build relationships with our employees whilst responding to their queries, as well supporting our HR and Finance colleagues with pay and benefits guidance. Required skills
