Are you looking for an exciting Mechanical Design Role in the Bristol area which offers remote working and exciting development opportunities My client is a recent spin-out from the University of Bristol, who are developing optical instruments for measuring thermal properties. Their long-term goal is to become a market-leading provider of thermal characterisation and thermal management systems and services for multiple industries.Your primary task will be to design, build and test commercial prototype thermo-reflectance systems, based on existing lab prototypes; and then to build and install systems for customers. To accomplish this, ideally you would have mechanical engineering (especially CAD) or Mechanical design / development experience. Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer role include:-Mechanically design, build and test prototype Thermo-Reflectance systems. -Build and install systems for customers. -Undertake basic coding tasks (Python, C++, C#, MatLAB)Skills required for the Mechanical Engineer role include: -Commercial/Industrial Mechanical Design experience. -ADVANTAGEOUS: Basic programming skills. -ADVANTAGEOUS: Optical/Opto-Electronics/Photonics experience. This is a great opportunity for a talented Mechanical Engineer to play a large role in the development of complex Thermo-Reflectance systems with a company that will invest heavily in their R&D Engineers. My client is open to candidates from varying backgrounds; PhD Graduates, BEng/Meng graduates with industry experience or commercially experience engineers.
