Job Description

Salary

  • £25,000 pa to £30,000 pa pro rata (based upon FTE 40 hours), dependent on experience
  • £12 per hour to £14.42 per hour
  • (£16,933 to £20,348 actual salary, including enhanced holiday pay)
  • The RoleThe Exams Officer manages of all internal and external school examinations, including GCSE, A level, Vocational, IELTS, Music, Speech and Drama. They also lead on the submission of scripts and NEA/coursework to examination boards. The Exams Officer supports the processes to manage assessments, reports and monitoring, along with the organisation of exam timetables, invigilation and supervision. In doing so they liaise with all staff across the school to ensure assessments are planned, communicated and appropriate.The exams officer manages, sources and trains the exam invigilators, readers and scribes for all internal and external exams. They will build contacts with the appropriate exams bodies and keep up to date on the latest exam legislation, making them the schools exams expert. They also coordinate results days and oversea the distribution of certificates to pupils.They are responsible for all exam policy documentation and review this with senior leaders regularly, alongside being responsible for baseline assessment systems and monitoring. Out of exam period they will also contribute to the work and smooth running of the wider academic administration team.YouThe ideal candidate will:Have knowledge and experience of the examinations cycle within a school setting
