Job title: Senior Philanthropy Manager - part time, job share, 3 days per week (Wednesday to Friday)Location: Southwater or London (Temporarily based from home due to COVID)Salary: circa £40,000 FTE plus comprehensive benefits packageClosing date:10:00 Thursday 7th January 2021Interviews: Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th January 2021We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Philanthropy Manager to join the RSPCA Fundraising Department to focus on developing new business for the Society’s philanthropy portfolio, accelerating the growth of income from major donor prospects in the build up to our 200th anniversary in 2024.The RSPCA is the UK’s oldest, largest and best-known animal welfare charity, and we are as committed to alleviating suffering today as when we were founded in 1824.In the decade of our bicentenary, and operating in a world that’s more complex and challenging than ever before, we’re determined to continue increasing our reach, impact and effectiveness. If we are to achieve this, our people (both employees and volunteers) must be motivated, resilient and innovative.As Senior Philanthropy Manager you will ensure high quality strategies are in place to secure gifts and lasting relationships from individuals (focussing at the six figure level) for our priority programmes.The Philanthropy team is small, but ambitious, with plans to grow in the run up to our 200th anniversary in 2024. We have a strong work ethos and offer flexibility in return.What you’ll be doing as a Senior Philanthropy Manager at the RSPCA:

  • Developing new, lasting partnerships with high net worth individuals that contribute to a forecasted exponential growth in the philanthropy income stream over the next 5 years.
  • Proactively working with a group of senior volunteers to identify major donor prospects and expand the Society’s networks and opportunities.
  • Leading on the identification and development of top quality cultivation and stewardship opportunities, including working with the communications and brand teams on delivering a high value communications plan and high profile events.
  • Supporting colleagues on the development of compelling Cases for Support and in identifying transformational projects.
  • Delivering new business income targets that meet the philanthropy team’s 5 year income growth strategy.
  • You’ll have:
  • An in-depth understanding and knowledge of working with philanthropists and high profile individuals.
  • Ability to influence, motivate and empower others in order to reach organisational goals.
  • Solid negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations in a clear and concise manner.
  • Substantial experience of high level account management with evidence of successful new and repeat business development
  • Experience of working towards and achieving ambitious targets.
