Job Description

Job title: Management AccountantLocation: Southwater (Temporarily based from home due to COVID)Salary: CompetitiveHours: 35Closing date:10am Monday 19th October 2020Are you a Management Accountant looking to use your skills and experience in an organisation whose cause you care about If you are, we’re waiting to hear from you!The Management Accountant role is an integral position within the finance department. The key function of this role is to analyse financial information and implement effective strategies to enhance overall business performance.Combining both accounting and management skills, you will have overall accountability for preparing, developing and applying findings from financial reports. Responsibilities include maintaining financial policies and management information systems, alongside establishing effective communication channels to inform management on all aspects of company finance.This role will contribute to team-wide projects and systems improvements and will be a key support for the Senior Finance Business Partners.What you will be doing as an RSPCA Management Accountant:

  • Providing accurate and timely financial and management reporting, including analysis of variances against budget, to the Senior Management Team, department heads and other stakeholders for the review and monitoring of the Society’s financial performance
  • Assisting in the provision of effective management of the Society’s finances including aspects of budgetary control, VAT processing
  • Preparing monthly reconciliations for allocated accounts
  • Reviewing accounting processes and practices and improving where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
  • Providing solutions to queries on organisation wide issues and managing internal customer interface
  • Contributing to annual budgeting and planning process
  • Ensuring compliance with financial procedures
  • Forecasting and budgeting income and expenditure to assist in organisational financial planning and performance measurement
  • Producing month end and year end journals to enable costs and income to be properly allocated
  • Assisting in the production of financial information to aid management in decision making. For example, investment appraisals, pricing and margin analysis
  • Assisting the Head of Financial Reporting & Control and the Financial Accountant with the year-end audit
  • Who we are looking for:
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to build strong working relationships
