Are you a talented and experienced Health, Safety, and Wellbeing expert looking to use your skills, knowledge and experience in an organisation whose cause you truly care aboutWe’re recruiting an Interim H&S and Wellbeing Consultant on a 6 month fixed term with an immediate start.You’ll have overall responsibility for the Health & Safety and Wellbeing of the RSPCA, making sure staff are aware of the importance of following safety protocol, and promoting a safe workplace as well as overseeing the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of action plans to support the Society’s strategic objectives in relation to employee health (physical and mental) and wellbeing.This role is temporarily based from home but will require some travel through England and Wales.What you’ll be doing:Conducting internal and compliance audits of H&S; reporting findings and managing issue log through to completion and making clear and transparent recommendations.Implementing practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety and safe working practices in the workplace.To recommend & implement control measures and advise on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees.Identifying areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance.Developing safeguarding policy, procedure, processes, and training.Running the RSPCA H&S Committee and acting as a central point of contact for Safety representatives.Liaising with all areas of the organisations sharing knowledge and collaborating on all Health & Safety and Wellbeing matters.Proactively seeking to identify role specific health and wellbeing issues and implement training and support mechanisms to address these.What you’ll have: Strong technical knowledge of health and safety legislation and application of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other legislation relevant to the Company’s business.Excellent communications skills with proven experience of engaging with a wide range of stakeholdersPrevious experience in a similar role/environment is essential.Experience in health and safety auditing.Experience in health and safety training with effective coaching and facilitation skills.Experience in implementing policy in health and safety management in a large, multi-sited and complex organisation.Fire risk assessment qualification (desirable).NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable), CMIOSH (minimum)How to apply: An application form can be downloaded from this web page.We do not accept CVs without a fully completed application form.Please send your completed application form to the Resourcing Team (email address can be found on our website) by the closing date of Friday 16 October 2020.Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, we will be holding interviews mostly through Google Hangouts.
