Job Description

Location: RSPCA HQ, Southwater (Temporarily based from home due to Covid)Salary: CompetitiveHours: 35Closing date: Fri, 22 Jan 2021Closing time: 10amWere looking for an interim Financial Accountant to join us initially for a 3 month contract with the possibility of an extension or becoming a permanent opportunity.This opportunity is initially remote working due to Covid-19 however there is the possibility you will need to travel to Southwater, Horsham if the position goes past 3 months or restrictions are eased. What you will be doing

  • Preparing statutory accounts for submission to Companies House and the Charity Commission
  • Managing other external reporting requirements (such as banking covenants)
  • Preparing group consolidations, including some RSPCA Branches
  • Liaising with external auditors and advisors
  • Working with the Management Accountants, assisting in the production of enterprise level management accounts for ELT & Board
  • Assisting with systems implementations, developments & improvements
  • Treasury management - in close alignment with the Finance Operations Manager
  • Tax compliance and planning
  • Maintaining and developing accounting policies and controls
    • What youll have
  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACA or CIMA
  • An understanding of all aspects of financial reporting & control
  • Expert understanding of financial reporting in UK Charities
  • Knowledge of tax, treasury and investment issues
  • Experience of managing an audit (from auditor or client side)
  • Understanding of best practice for financial controls
  • Awareness of goals and standards; you will follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and conditions; maintaining effective work behaviour in the face of setbacks or pressure
  • Enthusiasm and career commitment
