Job Description

Location:Southwater (Temporarily based from home due to COVID)Salary: CompetitiveHours: 35 hours per weekClosing date:Thu, 12 Nov 2020Are you looking for an opportunity to use your expertise and experience in the field of Data Architecture within an organisation whose purpose you truly care about If the answer is yes, we cant wait to hear from you!Were recruiting a Data Architect to support the creation and management of data architecture practices, principles and processes to ensure the security, quality, integrity, usability, safety and availability of all forms of data and data structures that make up the organisation¿s information. What youll be doing as an RSPCA Data Architect:

  • Leading the design of conceptual, logical and physical data models (incl. Enterprise Data Model)
  • Maintaining the standards for data modelling, design tools and techniques, advising on their application, and ensuring compliance.
  • Be responsible for the creation, maintenance and compliance of and with a data strategy and roadmap
  • Creating data models that enable the implementation of the intended business architecture
  • Analysing and creating information structures, data entities and taxonomies across all RSPCA datasets
  • Developing innovative ways of managing the information assets of the organisation and its support of the Business Intelligence and Analytics strategy, setup design capability/activities
  • Maintaining the standards for data modelling, design tools and techniques, advising on their application, and ensuring compliance
  • Having responsibility for the creation, maintenance and compliance of our data strategy and roadmap

  • Degree educated in Computing, Data Science or Mathematics or equivalent experience
  • Creativity, innovation and thinking in applying solutions for the benefit of an organisation
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. Zachman, TOGAF)
  • Business Intelligence/Advanced Analytics experience
  • Formal qualifications in data modelling/management
  • Ability to effectively translate and accurately communicate across technical and non-technical stakeholders as well as facilitate discussions within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to present clear insights to colleagues to support the end use of the data.
  • Knowledge of how to develop data standards for a specific component.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking
  • Ability to support strategic planning in an administrative capacity.
