Job Description

WelderSouth TynesideRates DOE Days (days initially) could move to shifts Long term contract, expected until December 2024Overview

  • MIG/MAG Welding
  • Butt welds
  • Fillet welds
  • Setting parameters
  • Flux-Core-Arc-Welding (FCAW) 3mm - 50mm ( stamps needed)
  • Low carbon steel - S355 min
Responsibilities
  • Welding different materials including carbon, stainless steel and aluminium
  • Weld components in horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Main process - FCAW low carbon steel
  • Butts and fillet welding to a high standard
  • Read fabrication and engineering drawings
  • Understand welding process specifications and welding symbols
  • Ability to layout, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly
  • Understand and work to geometric tolerances
  • Quality check parts for accuracy
  • Follow direction and work independently
  • Working to the highest level of quality
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Adhering to standards associated with welding
Skills and experience
  • Formal Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 2 and 3
  • Flux core arc welding experience
  • Materials experience of welding carbon steel thickness 3mm - 50mm range
  • Clear understanding of Health and Safety
  • COSHH risks awareness
  • Background in major construction / manufacturing environment
