If you are passionate and motivated to make a positive lasting impact in South Tyneside, then please read on Were currently looking for a Joiner to join our team on a full-time contract and help us deliver exciting new changes across our organisation.The Benefits- Starting salary of £27,850 per annum- Local Government Pension Scheme- Generous Annual Leave package to give you a good work/life balance- Flexi- Reduced cost public transport tickets for travel around Tyne and Wear- Health and Wellbeing Group- Staff Suggestion Scheme- Comprehensive Induction- Company lease scheme- Salary sacrifice schemesWe have an opportunity for a qualified joiner to join us at South Tyneside Homes to work within our teamIf you are self-motivated, time served and capable of working alone as well as part of a multi-skilled team this is an opportunity for you to commence a career with a company you can be proud to work for.Reporting to a Programme Manager, you will be expected to work on a variety of properties and schemes including minor refurbishments ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations, practices and standards.Typically, you will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of joinery tasks including repair, removal and replacement of a wide range of timber, plastic and composite products, both internal and external including the fitting, removal and re-hanging ofinternal, external doors, windows, kitchen base units, worktops and wall cupboards.37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)Additionally, voluntary overtime work and standby arrangements exist.About YouPart AEssential- Experience in a wide range of joinery/maintenance work. - Extensive knowledge and experience of working within the construction industry. - Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. - An understanding and working knowledge of health and safety regulations within the construction industry. - Understanding of production and how it relates to Measured Work Performance - The ability to read and interpret technical specification and drawings. - Ability to work with people and the public from a range of disciplines and backgrounds. - The ability to lift and carry a range of building materials and equipment. - The ability to work at heights from ladders and scaffolds. - Apprenticeship training with NVQ Level 3 in joinery or equivalent. - Ability to work flexibly to support the needs of the Building and Commercial Enterprise Section and Communities Directorate. - Full driving licenceDesirable- Ability to resolve problems with own initiative / experience. - Produce sketch drawings of items required.
