Job Title: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: South NormantonJob Type: Full-time/Part-timeStart Date: ASAPEmpowering Learning are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants to join our team and support our mission.As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing support and assistance to students with diverse special needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • The school is looking for someone who is passionate about inclusion and providing additional support, to provide the very best opportunity for allocated students.
  • You will work with the subject specialist teachers who will provide their expertise in supporting you with the subject matter to enable you to deliver engaging learning support.
  • To provide specialist subject expertise to assist students, completing reports and providing feedback on student progress as appropriate.
The successful candidate:
  • Have experience working with children of a Secondary age in a Learning Support environment.
  • Have the confidence and ability to challenge negative behaviours and re-focus learning engagement.
  • Understand SEND and provide a calm and nurturing learning environment.
