Job Description

Position: SEN Teaching AssistantLocation: Penarth CF64Contract Type:TemporarySalary: £80 per DayAre you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs Do you have a nurturing and patient nature, combined with a strong desire to support and empower students to achieve their full potential If so, weinvite you to join our dedicated team as a SEN Teaching Assistant.Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the SEN Coordinator, teachers, and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) for designated students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students in classroom activities, ensuring their engagement and participation.
  • Foster positive social interactions and communication among students.
  • Adapt and modify teaching materials as needed to meet individual student requirements.
  • Monitor and record students progress, behaviors, and achievements, and contribute to regular progress reviews.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians, sharing updates on students progress and discussing strategies for continued support at home.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment that values diversity and encourages active learning.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Must have child and adult DBS on the update service.
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or a related field are advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome challenges and reach their potential.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from teachers and senior staff.
