Job Description

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOUWestray Recruitment Group are seeking a Mechanically biased Maintenance Technician to join our client based in South Tyneside. The company in question are offering a package that consists of;Salary: £41,102 p/aOvertime rate: £26.46 p/hCall out rate: £145.63 for seven days including weekends and stat holidaysHolidays: 32 days annual leave including 7 days in lieu of stat holidays including Christmas day.Other benefits: Health Sure PlanUniform/PPE providedGroup pension plan (7% matched by employer)Life CoverProfit ShareTHE ROLE

  • Carry out planned and reactive work on the plant, vehicles, equipment, infrastructure and buildings.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical installations, plant, vehicles, engineering systems, and equipment in accordance with current regulations and guidance.
  • To record works carried out, to include updating the computerised maintenance management system as required.
  • To carry out the appropriate statutory testing on plant and equipment.
  • Subject to approval by the Foreman, plan and manage the working day based upon the job cards issued.
  • Instruct others when required on aspects of own work. Provide advice, instruction and training to Apprentices.
  • Carry mobile phone and participate in the Standby/call-out rota for maintenance services.
THE PERSON
  • Recognised apprenticeship.
  • City and Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent.
  • Five years post apprenticeship experience in mechanical maintenance and installation.
  • Able to work at heights and confined spaces.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Able to work call out/standby.
