Job Description

Stores OperativeSoham, Cambridgeshire£23,000pa + OT available during busy periodsMonday to Friday 8am to 5pm + Occasional SaturdaysWorking as a Stores Operative for one of the UKs leading agronomists, you will be responsible for the storage, stock levels and distribution of 1000s of chemical products, providing excellent customer service.This role involves strong attention to detail, manual handling of products weighing upto 25kgs operating a forklift and occasionally using the company van to deliver orders locally.You will be joining a team of 10 colleagues at the Soham site who have created a family and relaxed feel with everyone working together to get the job done in a timely manner.What you will be doing in more detail:

  • Providing excellent customer service on the counter, processing all orders in a timely manner
  • Picking and preparing of products as per customer orders
  • Operating a forklift for the loading of outgoing orders, unloading of incoming stock, checking the goods in and putting away in the designated storage spaces, ensuring that any discrepancies are highlighted
  • Stock rotation - ensuring that the oldest products are used first.
  • Carrying out daily, weekly, monthly and annual stock checks
  • Occasionally driving the company van to make local deliveries
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy and compliant with BASIS standards.
  • Complete the delivery run noting any queries / discrepancies from customers on route - feedback to the depot on return.

What youll need:
  • Previous experience in a small stores or warehouse environment
  • Full UK drivers licence
  • Organisation with strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work overtime in the peak period (7am start March to June)
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • A forklift licence would be an advantage however training can be provided
  • A can do attitude and willingness to develop additional skills through training
