Exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Technical Manager to join our clients busy Barway Site working for one of the country’s largest fresh produce providers.The company is an incredibly exciting place to work, at the forefront of modern farming and food distribution means its fast-faced, stimulating and rewarding. They work with the biggest food retail brands in the UK and Europe and want people who will do what’s right for the company and their customers.As a Site Technical Manager you will lead on day to day technical decisions within the factory and be responsible for meeting customer expectation and maintaining exemplary standards of food safety and quality of the finished products being produced, this will include compliance with product safety, authenticity and legal standards. The Site Technical Manager is also responsible for raw material and product testing in the factory and site hygiene team, in line with UK and EU legislation, ensuring that any unexpected or out of specification results are actioned immediately.You will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure high technical quality of products are being producing for customers in line with their specifications as well as identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in line with the wider technical direction. You will define and work within KPI’s for your team ensuring key performance is met in line with customer requirements as well as internal and external audit standards, you will also take a lead on internal audits for other sites.Reporting directly to the Barway Site Manager, the Site Technical Manager has management responsibility for the QA Manager, Hygiene teams and Site Domestic Cleaning team and will need to demonstrate the ability to manage and motivate teams.The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a Site Technical role ideally within a fresh produce factory environment, with exceptional communication skills, commercial awareness and a pro-active approach to driving self and the wider team forward.
