Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research & Development Executive to join their Innovation Team based in Barway, CambridgeshireOur client is an incredibly exciting place to work, at the forefront of modern farming and food distribution means its fast-paced, stimulating, and rewarding. They work with the biggest food retail brands in the UK and Europe and want people who will dowhats right for them and their customers.Role Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Coordination of pest and disease intelligence and diagnosis to underpin control strategies.
  • Deliver development trials and innovation programme to encourage new ways of growing and activity.
  • Coordinate research activities by various third-party organisations on GGL members farms and ensure that relevant data analysis, outcomes and recommendations are made available to third parties and GGL members.
  • Ensure all plans are documented, agreed, and signed off ahead of the season.
  • Deliver reporting of their Grower trials program and communication to their Grower members, technology, and research partners in a timely way.
  • Ensure all supporting paperwork is completed, recorded, and filed correctly.
  • Achieve positive feedback from customers (GGL members).
  • Assist the Innovation team to establish a good partnership with relevant parties.
  • Help to identify with any new agronomic and technology approaches.
  • Feedback regarding project trails, initiation, and development programs, while assisting with reporting and communications.
  • Liaison with Growers, Plant Propagators, Growing Managers and Harvest Managers to ensure everyone concerned is focused on the development aims for each product group.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Applied science expertise (entomology / plant pathology)
  • Degree in crop-focused applied biology, agricultural or horticultural subject
  • Valid driving license and willingness to drive to distant sites
  • Significant experience of crop evaluation, trialling, and data analysis
  • Efficient use of Microsoft Office
Candidate profile:
  • Good communicator (verbal and written).
  • Good organisational skills
  • Science experience and interest
  • Practical knowledge of agricultural systems and inputs and agronomy
