Job Description

Exciting opportunity for an Operations Supervisor (Celery)to join our clientsCelery Planting operationbased at Hainey Farm, Barway, CambridgeshireThe company is an incredibly exciting place to work, at the forefront of modern farming and food distribution means it’s fast-paced, stimulating, and rewarding.They work with the biggest food retail brands in the UK and Europe and want people who will do what’s right for the company and its customers.Key responsibilities include:

  • Work in line with company group values; Trust, Efficiency, Quality & Expertise, and Can-do
  • Assist the management team in running and performing the planting, irrigation, and general growing duties
  • Managing the planting and irrigation teams
  • Supporting the celery grower in making plans and their execution
  • Running the winter maintenance of both planting and irrigation equipment and any other growing machinery
  • The ideal candidate:
  • Experience in agricultural machinery and operations
  • Ability to demonstrate good farming practices in a farming operation
  • Team player - flexible and happy to undertake tasks in all areas to meet the needs of the teams
  • Engineering and maintenance of machinery experience
  • Proactive and be able to work on own initiative when needed
  • Well organised
  • Good communication and leadership skills when it comes to people management.
  • Be hand-on and participate in the operation
  • Be reliable and diligent.
  • Proactive and be able to work on own initiative when needed
  • Telehandler/Forklift experience (advantageous)
  • PA1 & PA2 (desirable but not essential)
  • Understanding of GPS and Precision farming technology
  • Hours: 40 hours/week minimum – 5 days out of 7.
