Job Description

Our client isrecruiting for aFinancial Accountantto join their fast-paced finance team based in Barway, Ely.The company is an incredibly exciting place to work, at the forefront of modern farming means its fast-faced, stimulating and rewarding. They work with the biggest food retail brands in the UK and Europe and want people who will do what’s right for the compant and its customers.Reporting into the Head of Finance, as theFinancial Accountantyou will work with key stakeholders within the business providingfinancial information and support to enable the business to plan and deliver itsobjectives.Financial Reporting

  • Complete the monthly accounts for all relevant reporting pillars to the timelines as specified, with those accounts PL, BS and Cashflow to be a true and accurate reflection of the underlying performance of the business.
  • Produce monthly board reports
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity each period – reconciliations should be prepared monthly for all assigned nominal ledger accounts and those completed within the team.
  • Manage and produce the appropriate year-end financial accounts to meet the company and group financial year end reporting requirements and timetable including financial statements and audit schedules.
  • Authorisation of weekly grower returns self-bill and haulage information.
    • Financial Planning
  • Prepare daily/weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Foreign exchange forecasting, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Produce, maintain and report against the annual budget, rolling forecast (s) and 3-5 year plan to assist the business in delivering it’s financial objectives.
  • Ensure forecasts are updated for in accordance with group timetables and requirements.
    • Systems and Processes
  • Continually review and assess if improvement can be made to processes or systems to improve efficiency, accuracy or completeness.
  • Responsible for JDE financial master data, including fiscal year reporting set up, new companies, new business units and nominal coding.
    • The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with post qualification experience. They should be a self-starter with the ability to demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with an aptitude for problem solving and decision making.Experience working in a fast paced, complex commercial environment is key along with demonstrable record of financial reporting, budget preparation & forecasting, balance sheet management and strong system skills. This role has people management responsibility so experience in managing/coaching or mentoring will also be beneficial.To find out more about this opportunity please click to apply
