Job Description

Our client is looking for an exceptional Factory General Manager to join their Barway operation in Ely, Cambridgeshire.Our client isat the forefront of modern farming and food distribution, meaning its fast-faced, stimulating and rewarding. They work with the biggest food retail brands in the UK and Europe and want people who will do what’s right for them and their customers.As a Factory General Manager, you will be responsible for our client’s baby leaf and celery snacking business, working as a key stakeholder in delivering group profit on baby leaf.

  • Work in line with our client’s group values: Trust, Efficiency, Quality, Expertise & Can-do
  • Help develop and implement product strategy in the Baby Leaf and Celery snacking business
  • Developing business opportunities with Ready to Eat / Cook with managing total profit responsibility.
  • Contribute towards strategic planning for dealing with increased pressures and high volumes.
  • Establish and maintain market leading quality standards across the supply base.
  • Develop world class manufacturing practices throughout the operation.
  • Manage responsibility of the efficient running of core teams within Barway factory operations.
  • Manage budgets and identify areas for cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Responsibility of Health and Safety within your area.
  • Develop and maintain systems that are required to meet food safety regulations and production processes are meeting the standards.
  • Develop and report on KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators).
  • Key Requirements
  • Experience leading in a factory environment, including introduction of process efficiencies
  • Experience in implementing automation
  • Proven experience in Health and Safety Leadership
  • Development & implementation of LEAN processes
  • Understanding of budgets and profit & loss reports
  • Strong technical understanding of product requirements
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven experience managing a high performance team
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset
