Job Description

Start Date: 02/01/2021 Pay: KR3 Learning Support Assistant requiredfor a pupil in KS1 (1:1 position). Fixed term: Jan 2021 until Dec 2021 (withpotential to be extended). Are you positive and enthusiastic Are you passionateabout working with children and want to work as part of a great team to ensurethat all children achieve their potential in a happy and safe environmentHours of work: 5 days per week (9 am to 3 pm withhalf hour lunch break) We are looking foran enthusiastic learning support assistant to join ourteam. The role involves working 1:1 with a child with additionalneeds (some needs are physical). Salary: Kent Range 3 We are seeking a candidates who will:

  • Work as an effective team player;
  • Be self-motivated;
  • Will effectively promote the vision, aims andpositive ethos of the school;
  • Be innovative and enthusiastic;
  • Have high expectations of childrens achievementand a commitment to inspiring learners;
  • Some support for children over playtimes andlunchtimes.
  • Do you have these attributes
  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in Child Care andEducation/Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a commitment to working towardsthis;
  • Preferably some experience in phonics andinterventions for SEN children;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonalskills;
  • A good standard of maths, English and ICTskills;
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable;
  • Organised and able to work independently,recording childrens progress where required;
  • Will initiate and participate in play activitiesor interventions during lunchtimes, encouraging children to engage.
  • Be prepared to support the childs physical needsand undergo training in relation to this.
