Electro-Mechanical Lead Shift Engineer - Rotational Day/NightshiftGap Professional are representing a critical hygiene business who are based local to Southend, Essex and who supply direct to the retail market. During the pandemic this booming business have had very strong sales and worked continually throughout to service their customers and have remained a stable employer without having needed to furlough any employees.Currently seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Lead Shift Engineer who will be responsible for supplying the production lines with breakdown cover in order to optimise production whilst ensuring any work is carried out in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and legislation.This is a varied, busy and active hands-on Manufacturing Engineer role. Duties are wide ranging where the main objective is to ensure that production equipment is safely and efficiently maintained. The role is fast-paced and demanding on dayshift when the main site is in full operation. As this position is the only Engineer whilst on nightshift, a wide range of skills and the ability to focus and solve problems is essential to complete the day to day demands as well as special projects. Shifts will consist of Sunday to Thursday Night 10pm to 7am with Days 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 5pm Fridays. The rota is currently on a fortnightly turn around. Some overtime and shift changes may be required to suit production needs and scheduled shutdowns.
