Job Description

MTrecs New Opportunity;MTrec Technical are proudly representing of prestigious FMCG Manufacturing client, based in Seaham, with their plans for internal growth and expansion. We are supporting their recruitment needs buy recruiting a permanent Packaging Technologist to join theirteam. A successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the consumer, customer needs and technical requirements from our packaging to develop a programme of work that delivers commercial growth and competitive advantage for the organisations products.If you are a experienced Packaging Technologist, or have similar packaging experience, apply now for an immediate response!The Job Youll Do;
  • Manage relationships with design houses to support development of good practice. Improve printing process and quality of reprographics. Brief artworks, create and maintain cutter guides, coordinate packaging redesign projects on current SKUs and managenew film changeovers on site.
  • Support NPD process to bring new products to market with trials and transit support. Manage timelines for packaging printing (FTP) and introduction on site.
  • Support day to day issues with site packaging, supporting QA and operations.
  • Develop understanding of our packaging products to improve operational line efficiency and product efficacy.
  • To ensure all existing packaging is fit for purpose, compliant with technical and legal requirements, specifications developed and held electronically for access.
  • Deliver packaging cost saving and rationalisation projects.
  • Build supplier relationships to increase our packaging knowledge of industry trends and competitors and our innovation capability.
About You;
  • Educated to Degree level is desirable.
  • Packaging qualification is desirable.
  • Experience within NPD - Quality and cost saving.
  • Experience within FMCG.
  • Previous experience within a Packaging Technologist role or similar.
