MTrecs New Opportunity;MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious Food Manufacturing client with their plans for grow and expansion, by recruiting a permanent Facilities Technician to join their team. If you are an experienced Facilities Technician, looking for yournext career move, apply now for an immediate response.The Job Youll Do;
  • To oversee, as instructed, the efficient working of heating plant and lighting.
  • To read meters as necessary and maintain approved records including any concerned with energy conservation matters.
  • To clean and be responsible for the tidiness of paths, drives and other hard surfaces within the site grounds. Including general gardening, weeding and cleaning of external windows.
  • To note and report as necessary on matters affecting the health and safety of persons on the site.
  • To undertake repairs and maintenance of furnishings and buildings as agreed with the Engineering and Facilities Manager
  • To keep paths, access points and entrances free of moss, snow, and ice to ensure safe passage.
  • To maintain a record of works and directed work.
  • Periodically, to clean lamp shades and light diffusers, taking account of instructions given on cleaning at heights.
  • The reporting of defects in buildings, furniture, fittings, and plan as required by regulations or the instructions of the Engineering and Facilities Manager.
  • Car park to be kept clear from glass, debris, and litter.
  • Handyman duties - responsible for ensuring repairs and maintenance duties are undertaken such as painting, repairs & maintenance of fixtures and fittings, erecting shelves and notice boards, simple plumbing repairs. To ensure premises and fittings are safeand fit for purpose.
  • Pruning of small shrubs and bushes which may cause injury.
  • To attend any training courses relevant to the post ensuring continual personal and professional development.
  • Ensuring all car parks and other outside areas are clean and presentable
  • Empty outside bins and bail rubbish when required
  • Constant upkeep of all areas including painting / decorating of the office areas also the production areas
  • Ensuring the gardens are well maintained, cut and plants are regularly watered
  • Ensuring any areas which require painting are completed by following a schedule agreed by the Engineering and Facilities manager.
  • The general maintenance of the external areas of the site and the areas in close proximity
  • Ensuring speed doors are cleaned regularly
  • Maintenance of racking and bollards as agreed by Engineering and Facilities manager
  • Changing any lightbulbs around the full site when needed
  • Ensure the drains are cleaned and any blockages are dealt with when instructed by the Engineering and Facilities manager
  • Facility checks and daily walkaround, report structure
  • Any other reasonable duties at the discretion of the Engineering and Facilities manager
About You;
  • Experience within a facilities technician or similar role.
  • Good Communicator.
  • Ability to work independently and with other contractors.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive, Organised and Motivated.
  • Ability to follow instructions clearly.
  • Electrical / Building background (desirable).
