About the School Medway Green School is anindependent special educational needs provision in Wouldham, Kent. The school,when full, will facilitate up to 46 pupils aged 5-14 with a wide range ofbehavioural, social and emotional needs including ASC. The school site iscurrently going through significant refurbishment and phase 2 is on schedule tocomplete by October 2020. About the role You will be responsible forplanning and delivering lessons to KS1 and KS2 students. Along with this, the use of personalised curriculums andpositive reinforcement will underpin your everyday practice. This can be a challengingenvironment and therefore, determination and resilience are key characteristicsfor the post. We are seeking an experienced teacher with an understanding ofKS1 and KS2 Curricula and an ability to interact with and motivate studentsdiagnosed with SEMH and ASC, allowing the successful candidate to immediatelyform positive relationships and adapt to the needs of the pupils. However, weinvest heavily in teacher development and want staff who endeavour to achievemore. We often find that candidates who have succeeded in mainstream settingsand are looking for a new challenge make excellent SEN teachers. The school comprises of two buildings - an 1870 traditional red brickVictorian school house and a modern classroom block. The site also extends onto4 acres of surrounding land including adjacent playing fields. This is a greatopportunity for Acorn Care and Education in the South East to expand and fulfildemand in the region, where our other school Heath Farm has been at capacitysince May 2018. Medway Green will provide anurturing and welcoming environment to SEMH students in Key stages 1-3.Students will experience a personalised curriculum based on previous learningand identified needs. With a keen focus on therapy, education and personaldevelopment the school aims to help young children grow academically, sociallyand emotionally to enable them to achieve success as they progress throughlife.
