Electrical Engineer - Team LeaderInterfaces with:Electrical Fitting Team & Mechanical Fitting Team, Design & Quality.Authorities and Accountabilities:H&S of team, putting a stop to activities & production due to concerns over quality or processing risks, Housekeeping, communicating, to challenge individuals time keeping, maintaining production goals, to approve annual leave or appointments. Supervisor duties& department inspections.Job Purpose:Working with the production manager to:* oversee department H&S and quality needs, * maintain a clean & tidy working environment - using the 5s philosophy,* develop & maintain individuals training and skill requirements,* lead teams and direct focus towards goals for achieving production deliverables,* be a strong communicator and team motivator,* being an ambassador/voice of the electrical fitting team,* demonstrate strong electrical engineering skills to assist with design and production problems,* Participates in working activities & solves working problems.* focus on continuous improvements by creating efficiencies, implementing & completing projects,* Covering areas/tasks in the absence of the production manager.Key Responsibilities:* Department H&S - work area checks at end of working day - promoting good housekeeping, COSHH & monthly inspections.* Overseeing panel builds and complete machine wire.* Achieving production deliverables ready for software.* Communicating, leading & motivating the team.* Acts as an educator, communicates expectations - processes, procedures, quality standards & mentoring individuals, e.g. apprentices, new starters.* Encouraging collaboration & teamwork. * Setting high quality expectations & upskilling others.* Checking consumable stock levels - requesting purchase. * Works strategically with production manager, updating on successes, issues, concerns & opportunities - verbally or by written report.* Adhere to the procedures defined by ISO9001 QA system.Role Related Knowledge, Experience and Personal Attributes:Essential:Apprenticeship trained, City & Guilds, ONC, trade qualification. NVQ level 2 skilled specific. CSE, GCSE, English Math, other. Electrical panel work - layouts, trunking, Electrical component/devices such as servo drives, PSUs, safety systems etc. Cable management and wiring, and machine plus H.M.I. terminating to panel. Understanding and working to technical drawings, using measuring instruments & following SOPs.Bench craft skills - marking drilling cutting, threading, forming & using various hand tools.Strong experience, in an electrical manufacturing environment.Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and ERP/MRP systemsGood communicator, friendly & approachable disposition, a "go-to" person. Logical and methodical approach, calm and task & team focused.DesirableCMI level 2 or above - team leadership diploma in supervision or other similar training courses.Btec HNC, HND or other.Electrical test & Fault finding.Machine earth bond testing. Electro-mechanical experience.First Aid at Work Certificate.Can work under pressure, enjoys challenges and goes the extra mile.
