Job Description

We seek a highly motivated and experienced Quality Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the quality team and ensuring that the needs of the business are met. This will involve managing the ISO9001 QMS and productand process quality systems, as well as representing the company in the field with respect to quality issues.Primary Responsibilities:

  • To manage the quality team and work closely with other departments to ensure the needs of the business are met.
  • To manage the ISO9001 QMS and product and process quality systems.
  • To represent the company in the field with respect to quality issues.
  • To line manage the Compliance and Approval Coordinator and work closely with the Design department to ensure all new products and designs are fit for purpose, compliant, and have the necessary approvals prior to going to market.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • To own and manage the QMS and quality team and ensure compliance with the ISO9001 quality system.
  • Organize and run regular quality meetings to appraise department heads and the board of all quality issues across the company.
  • To provide input and expertise on quality issues at a senior management level as required.
  • To line manage the Compliance and Approvals coordinator; tasked with obtaining approvals and certification for products, manufacturing processes, and workforce, together with the companys Intellectual Property.
  • To support the commercial team, working closely with the sales project manager, and when required representing the company in the field. By gaining a technical knowledge of the product range, and working with the Compliance and Approvals Coordinator, toprovide ongoing support for the commercial department.
  • To provide support for the purchasing department, dealing directly with suppliers.
  • To provide additional technical guidance to the Design department, particularly in areas of compliance, through the Compliance and Approvals coordinator and participation in the company FMEA process.
  • To provide appropriate training, if required, to other employees.
Goals and Objectives:Goals:
  • To take ownership of the QMS and quality team to maintain best-practice quality across the company.
  • To use your QMS experience to suggest and implement changes, where required, to ensure continuous improvement across all departments.
Objectives:
  • To reduce and manage the cost of quality across the business per the objectives set in the business plan.
  • Work with the purchasing department to reduce the cost of poor quality through the management of suppliers, good inwards inspections, and component specifications.
  • Work with the production department to ensure quality remains high across all our manufactured products.
  • Through line management of the Compliance and Approvals Coordinator, ensure that all new and existing products remain compliant for the appropriate market.
Requirements:
  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a quality management role.
  • Proven experience in managing a team and a track record of driving continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 QMS and product and process quality systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Experience in product compliance and approvals is essential.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and product design is essential.
  • Knowledge of FMEA process is desirable.
