Trees and Woodlands Officer£25,991 - £29,577An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the parks and open team to work with our Arboricultural Officer to oversee the development of the Diamond Jubilee Wood in Rugby. Planted in 2012 to mark the Diamond Jubilee the wood now requires more active management to ensure its continued success.We are therefore looking for a self-motivated individual with a variety of arboricultural skills to ensure the site develops in line with the approved management plan.This full-time role will include the management, development and maintenance of the 47 ha Diamond Jubilee Wood along with assisting our Arboricultural officer on a day to day basis. This will include assisting on the routine inspection of Council owned tree stock across the borough and effectively scheduling and communicating those works identified, along with general tree enquires as per the Councils tree policy.The successful candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience working within the arboricultural industry, undertaking tree work, inspecting trees and hold an arboricultural qualification at level 3, 4 or above and a Lantra Awards Technical award in Professional Tree Inspection (PTI)A clear understanding of British Standards relating to arboricultural practices is needed, along with a flexible approach to working to meet the needs of the service.
