Transport PlannerLocation: RugbySalary: £27,000 + BonusShifts: 07:00-15:30, 10:00-18:30, 13:00-21:30My client is seeking a Transport Planner to report to the UK Transport Coordinator and the UK Planning Manager. You will work as part of a team to ensure production of the most efficient and cost effective collection plans and vehicle routes within the domesticservice to the customers. Examine the strategic plan & the volume on a daily & weekly basis for maximum efficiency. Maximise load fill and backload opportunities.Ideally you will need experience as a Transport Planner or been exposed to working within Transport and have an understanding of Planning.DutiesMaking sure routes are planned in a timely manner and within budgetary constraints and in order to achieve cost savings objectivesMaking sure freight costs per site are recordedEnsure Domestic Collections and Deliveries are monitoredBuilding and reviewing short term, medium term and long term plansUpdating volume forecasting matrixDaily communications with Operations teams, vendors, hauliers, partners and customers regarding Network / Route plan changes whilst ensuring a good working relationship is built and maintained.Making sure transport networking opportunities are prioritized and maximizedRegularly revise routes taking into account, demand fluctuations, supply chain exceptions and strategics initiativesWork together with the UK Planning Manager and partner sites to ensure maximised utilisation of fleetContinual improvement for cost reductions, identifying where cost can be saved from tactical route changesEnsure all routes are planned in accordance with relevant legislationWork with Control Tower operational teams to resolve any collection / planning issues to optimise effectivenessSupport and follow instructions from the Transport CoordinatorPlease contact Ruth for further information on .
