Job Description

Role:Support WorkerBased: RugbyRate:£22,197Start Date: ASAPDuration: PermanentHours: 37.5Our client, a well-respected charity, provides support to improve the lives of young people using their services by delivering a high quality and responsive support worker service to ensure a safe sound and supportive environment in conjunction with supportworkers and the service managerSynopsis of duties:

  • To be the first point of contact for advice and security for young people
  • Carrying out assessments of needs, developing personalised support plans, promoting independence skills, provide compassion and motivation, empowering young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, helping people to manage their home, budgeting andmore.
  • Accurately record messages, conduct follow up telephone calls, update logbooks and handover reports where appropriate, including full incident reporting and actions taken.
  • Manage enquiries relating to vacancies and facilitate access to emergency accommodation if required.
  • Keep appropriate records of interventions and update on the CRIS system informing other staff of relevant issues.
  • Encourage people involvement in the development and operation of the service, facilitate consultation and participation
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven track record of supporting vulnerable young people and/ or adults either within an accommodation or community-based service. Preferred experience of working with addictions, substance misuse, homelessness or mental health
  • Strong safeguarding and risk assessments skills and experience
  • Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months and/ or registered on the DBS Update Service
  • Proven track record of successfully carrying and managing your own caseload
