Job Description

Job Title: Estates OfficerLocation: Rugby Borough CouncilPay Rate: £16.63 per hour (negotiable)Work Mode: On-site (potential hybrid working available)Working Hours: 37 hours per weekContract Duration: 3 months temporary (potential permanent role available)About the Role:Join our dynamic team at Rugby Borough Council as an Estates Officer. In this pivotal role, youll be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the estates portfolio, aligning with the Councils Asset Management Strategy and corporate priorities.Under the guidance of the Property Manager, you will coordinate estates work across various service areas, identify commercial opportunities on council-owned land, and manage property acquisitions and disposals.Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply a commercial approach to achieve optimal value from Council land and property assets.
  • Maintain property ownership data on mapping systems and produce plans as needed.
  • Respond to day-to-day estates queries from the public and external customers.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of estates files, deeds, and document control procedures.
  • Liaise with different teams, public members, partners, and consultees on estates matters.
  • Manage and supervise the specialist estates apprentice.
  • Be aware of Health and Safety legislation relevant to property and estates.
Requirements:
  • Obtained or working toward an appropriate professional or technical estates qualification.
  • Experience in managing estates matters in public sector or similar organization.
  • Experience in administration and record-keeping with an asset management system.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation related to property.
  • Experience in setting, managing, and monitoring estates work and KPIs.
