Job Description

The companyA renowned high precision machine tool manufacturer with a worldwide distribution network working closely with some of the worlds leading companies across a wide range of sectors. As part of their commitment to exceptional customer support, they are expandingtheir support team and seeking a talented CNC Application Engineer to join the team.This is a home-based position with a requirement to attend client sites throughout the UK.The roleA Field Applications Engineer is now required to join the team on a permanent basis to support customers across the UK and Ireland (with a focus in the Midlands).You will take responsibility for:

  • Installation and commissioning of CNC Lathe machines at customer sites across the UK and Republic of Ireland with a focus around midlands areas
  • Delivering outstanding support and comprehensive training on machine operations, programming and tooling to customers across the UK.
  • Developing an understanding and product knowledge of the Linear robots and bar feeding systems to further enhance customer support.
  • Working from technical engineering drawings to evaluate and determine the most optimal approach for manufacturing the component.
  • Ensuring efficient cutting of materials through appropriate speeds, feeds and tool tip selection
What you needIt is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
  • HNC Qualified or apprentice trained in engineering or similar field.
  • Ideally over 6 years of work experience in CNC Turning with an excellent understanding of CNC machine tool maintenance and Fanuc Controls (G code programming using Manual guide I)
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of using Fanuc Controls
  • Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings.
  • Experience of working with multi-spindle and multi-turret lathes
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a client-facing role
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
  • Having familiarity with iHMI would be highly advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
  • Knowledge of Gantry robots and bar feed loading systems is desirable
