Job Description

Operating regionally, they support a range of clients from food production, dairy, distilleries,landfill sites and many others. They offer round the clock support both remotely and site based, with teams of engineers designated to their regions.Some of the benefits the service engineer can expect are a competitive starting salary of circa £33K, call out bonus, overtime during the weekend, company van fully expensed with fuel card, laptop and phone, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private pension,private medical insurance, childcare vouchers, and other incentives.Responsibilities of the service engineer include -

  • To ensure the operation and maintenance of all generator sets, plant and gas systems to achieve maximum safe electrical output
  • Day to day fault diagnosis, inspection, planned servicing and rectification
  • Maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical plant, including pumps and motors at all facilities.
  • Maintenance and inspection of LV electrical equipment subject to training and competency
  • Utilisation and compliance of the companys operations and maintenance procedures, manuals, record keeping and stock control systems.
  • Training, support and supervision of Operations Technicians to undertake minor maintenance and simple fault finding.
  • Support the on call rota with 24-hour emergency response, as part of a team of 6 rota
  • Ordering of spares and control of stock.
This role will see you look after a number of primary sites in and around Yorkshire, so flexibility towards travelling to other sites is essential.To be successful in this role, suitable candidates will have the following skills and experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of engine sets or generators
  • Recognised level in either mechanical engineering, or automotive vehicle maintenance
  • Experience with electric control systems 12v DC - 415v AC 30
  • Fault location, diagnosis and rectification
  • A clean drivers license
Working hours are 8:30am - 5pm Monday to Friday. Engineers tend to average at 40hrs per week, but any additional hours worked are paid at overtime rate during the week or at weekends.ASC Connections Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
