Job Description

BPX Group are looking to appoint a permanent, full-time HR Officer to help us achieve our ambitious people strategy. This role is based at our Head Office in Rothley, Leicestershire (LE7 7NL).Who are weFor over 55 years BPX has built a reputation as a specialist technical distributor of automation and control components, devices and solutions. This reputation comes from the commitment of our customer service, established supplier portfolio and technicalsupport. We now employ over 170 people and from our 14 branch locations throughout the UK & Ireland provide a local service to our customers.What will you be doingWe have an ambitious People Strategy to ensure our colleagues feel supported and empowered to deliver excellence. As our HR Officer, you will be working in a generalist role alongside our Head of People and Payroll to help deliver that strategy. This isa varied and busy role with a mix of day-to-day routine tasks as well as project and development work.The main duties will include:

  • Providing initial point of contact for internal and external HR enquiries
  • Leading our recruitment process, including arranging interviews, reference checks, right to work checks, employment contracts, and new starter paperwork
  • Leading our new sickness absence management framework, including providing support to Managers.
  • Develop our new HR Information System (Employment Hero) to generate, reports, gather insights and develop our people processes.
  • Providing regular HR data reporting to Managers and Directors
  • Liaise with payroll to produce required reports on a monthly basis
  • Assist with staff engagement initiatives, such as staff surveys, recognition programs, and events
  • Ensure that HR records, both physical and electronic, are kept up to date, accurate, and securely stored at all times
  • Providing effective support in cases including minute taking for grievance, disciplinary, and other HR related matters.
  • Overseeing leaver process
  • Project work/research to help develop our People Strategy
  • Play an active role in our wider Business Administration team
  • Assisting with our Learning & Development e-learning platform, from analysing and reporting on data to releasing videos.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably expected of an HR Officer
Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceAs well as being a really nice person to work with, we are looking for a person who:
  • Is currently studying or qualified to CIPD Level 5 or with equivalent experience
  • Experience of working with a HRIS (Employment Hero desirable)
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice
  • Has a passion for continual improvement with the ability to drive things forward
  • Is confident corresponding via face to face, telephone or email with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Understands the importance of empathy, confidentiality and discretion
  • Is able to work independently
  • Has the ability to manage their time, prioritise workload and monitor/manage deadlines
  • Has amazing attention to detail and accuracy levels
  • Is competent with Microsoft Office software
