Job Description

Pay: Kent Range3 Start Date: Immediate EYFS Teaching Assistant Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:15pmDo you have experience ofsupporting children in an Early Years setting Do you have a passion fordeveloping childrens speech, language and communication skills If so, this role may be for you!We are seeking to appoint aTeaching Assistant to join our enthusiastic and dedicated Foundation Stageteam. The role will involve using your strengths and initiative whilst workingalongside colleagues in Foundation Stage and our Specialist Resource Provisionto provide support to an individual pupil. This contract is temporary untilAugust 2020 in the first instance when funding and pupil needs will bereviewed. The ideal candidate will bepatient and motivated with some experience of supporting children with speech,language and communication needs. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide support to childrensexperiences in their Foundation Stage classroom by supporting them when theyexperience barriers to communication and learning
  • Be able to accept guidance andsupport from colleagues in both the Foundation Stage team and in our Speech andLanguage Specialist Resource Provision, in order to work collaboratively tomeet childrens needs
  • Have a good knowledge andunderstanding of the EYFS profile
  • Have a positive outlook; bepatient and have the ability to be flexible and adapt day to day activities inorder to meet childrens needs
  • Have experience of working withchildren in a school or Early Years setting; including those with additionalneeds.
  • Have 5 GCSE grades C/4 or above,including English and Maths; or Cache Diploma in Childcare, Learning andDevelopment Level 4, or minimum qualification of NVQ L3.
  • A working knowledge of acommunication system such as PECSwould be an advantage but not a necessity as training will be given
