Job Description

Passive Fire Bid Engineer- UK Wide Coverage, based out of Projects Office in RisleyMarlowe Fire & Security Group are the leading, and fastest growing Fire & Security company in the UK. Testament to the incredible work we do, our client base is ever-growing and for this purpose we are looking to appoint an additional PassiveFire Bid Engineer to support the Sales Design Estimator to compile bids in line with company standards utilizing company template documentation. A good communicator who is capable and has a good background knowledge of the British standards and working knowledgeof passive fire.The OpportunityThe purpose of this role will primarily be to ensure all passive fire projects are delivered technically compliant, in budget and on time, whilst reviewing contract files for technical and contractual accuracy.

Obtain enquiry from Sales.
Review & pre-qualify information to decide if we are able to quote efficiently and are able to complete works required.
Identify type of works required. Survey Quote, Firestopping Works, RIT, Fire Door Replacements, Fire Door Remedials.
Build EPC cost sheet with all relevant materials required to complete & labour needed (Works, Travel, Making good etc).
Approach Marlowe approved suppliers/propose new suppliers/approved subcontractors to obtain quotes for specialist materials & labour where required.
Liaise/Communicate with onsite engineers, manufacturer detail, Salespeople & Project Managers where needed to accurately complete EPC.
Maintaining commercial perspective to be competitive with our pricing while upholding minimum margin.
Import costs, reports, & itemised breakdowns where required onto Marlowe Passive Fire Proposal template and detail works required with how we propose to complete.
Inform Salesman the proposal & EPC Cost sheet is saved and complete in the enquiry cabinet with any additional notes that may be needed to assist in selling the enquiry.
Update enquiry notes tab to allow for smoother handover to project manager should our quote be accepted following client purchase order
Periodically follow up completed quotes with the salespeople to allow for Forecasting.

Who were looking for:Our ideal candidate will have come from a Passive Fire background, you will have ample experience working in beds, tenders, sales and quotations. You must be prepared to work anywhere at any time to ensure the bid is complete following all Marlowe healthand safety guidelines.who can work under pressure and works well in a team environment or on their own,

At least 3 years working as a Passive Fire industry
Self motivated, flexible, able to work away from home when required
Have a formal qualification in passive fire industry.
An understanding of the British Standards & EN covering the areas of work.
Experience in a similar role
Excellent management and computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Customer focused with the ability to resolve customer queries
Be capable of working effectively under pressure in a deadline driven environment
Professional with excellent communication, admin and people skills
Strong organisational skills
The ability to handle multiple priorities with a structured approach
Self motivated, proactive and enthusiastic
The ability to work independently and a desire to learn
