Job Description

Opportunity for a logistics manager to work for an established manufacturing company that has secure order books through to 2028. You will earn a salary of up to £50,000 as well as a good benefits package including private medical cover, pensionand potential bonuses based on achievements.You will work in a fast-paced JIT manufacturing set up with responsibility for the logistics and warehouse functions managing a team of around 30 staff. The site maintains a strong focus on lean and continuous improvement that it has had for a long timeand you will play a part in activities related to this as well as assisting with a current group-wide transition to a new logistics and warehousing software.As the logistics manager, your duties will include:

Management, maintenance and monitoring of all KPIs for the logistics and warehouse functions, improving upon these where necessary
Working to ensure customer satisfaction and lead times are met
Development of a strong customer-first culture
Maintaining all logistics/supply chain documentation and implementing changes or introducing new documentation where needed
Being responsible for all cost-down initiatives within the logistics and warehouse departments and identifying areas where cost savings can be made
Proposing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and projects
Taking a proactive approach to customer contact (both internal and external) to ensure satisfaction
Contributing to the attainment and maintenance of all relevant quality standards for the site.

Experience in a fast-paced, Just In Time (JIT) logistics and warehouse function, preferably in a manufacturing environment (automotive, aerospace, plastics, etc.)
Previous managerial or supervisory experience
Experience with lean and continuous improvement tools
A degree-level qualification in a logistics or supply chain-related field is desirable
